My oaks are sending down these lovely acorns in torrents and the squirrels who call my place "home" are having quite a feast...I wonder if they're edible...so I googled it and it said, yes, it was perfectly OK and that they are highly nutritious on top of it all, but usually bitter! So I tried one, and it was raw in texture and terribly BITTER!!! Alas...no acorn nuts for snacking for me...thank you very much!Saturday, October 3, 2009
