My oaks are sending down these lovely acorns in torrents and the squirrels who call my place "home" are having quite a feast...I wonder if they're edible...so I googled it and it said, yes, it was perfectly OK and that they are highly nutritious on top of it all, but usually bitter! So I tried one, and it was raw in texture and terribly BITTER!!! Alas...no acorn nuts for snacking for me...thank you very much!

Replete With Acorns!
My oaks are sending down these lovely acorns in torrents and the squirrels who call my place "home" are having quite a feast...I wonder if they're edible...so I googled it and it said, yes, it was perfectly OK and that they are highly nutritious on top of it all, but usually bitter!
