Italian Rooster & Basin
I thought that header might grab your attention! This little cutie is an Italian Rooster Pitcher which comes paired with it's own basin and they find themselves comfortably on my dining setting, one of two sets which sit at either end of the dining table. They were bought in Sorrento, Italy. I love getting souvenirs that can serve a practical yet decorative purpose and of course bring memories back of the interesting times had during a trip... 
The Rooster does have a nice smile...hehe...do chickens have lips? I wonder who came up with that silly little sarcastic expression...but it does make me smile ;-)
Detail of the basin into which the Rooster Pitcher sits...just thinking, that each guest could be presented with a set of these with steaming hot lavendar scented water and a napkin to freshen up before tucking into a meal...
A simple "SORRENTO" reassures me that these were made locally where purchased and are authentic to the region...
